Holidays around the corner and you can’t think of anything to get your friends and family without producing a bunch of waste?
Don’t worry, cause I got you covered!
Reducing your waste shouldn’t have to be a nuisance to your everyday life, and it doesn’t have to be.
Reusable Items
Have a friend that’s interested in reducing their waste? Getting them reusable items that they’d be able to use in their everyday life is a great option!
Holidays are also a great way to encourage your family and friends to reduce their waste by getting them reusable items.
Reusable products are great because they keep trash from the landfills, but are also a great money saver in the long run.
Quick Navigation
1. Straws
Reusable straws are a great and simple gift, especially for someone who is looking for different ways to reduce waste. And honestly, they just look better too.
I found both of these straws on Amazon. They have great reviews and the price seems worth it to me. For the metal straws, you can also select the color of the straws which is pretty cool in my opinion.
I also included a boba straw option because who doesn’t love boba and being able to drink it with a reusable straw? They are also great for thick smoothies!
You can also find so many different options online!!

2. Travel Mug
Travel mugs are a great and beautiful gift. You can take them with you anywhere and these mugs are perfect for keeping your drink hot or cold. They are also really great for reducing waste in general. Switch out plastic water bottles with these instead!

3. Makeup Remover Pads
I love these for so many reasons. First, they’ll save you so much money throughout the years because you won’t need to constantly have to restock. Just throw them in the washer and voila! Use em again!
They are also a wonderful alternative to single-use wipes because of the amount of waste they produce, and the resources it takes to continuously produce them.
This brand plants a tree for every purchase which I thought was so wonderful! It also has a black side for dark makeup(mascara, eyeliner) and a white side for other things (toner, moisturizer) so it doesn’t stain.
This brand is made from bamboo fibers and cotton. One of the reviews said it doesn’t come with any added plastic which is a plus!
Overall, the reviews for both of these products were very good and they both look like really great choices. I just wanted to show a few different options, but there are so many more great ones out there!
4. Bath Bombs
Bath bombs are a great gift. Everyone loves them and they make you feel nice and relaxed.
Most of the cheap ones you see sold in stores are probably not made with the best ingredients. I found these two brands that are non-toxic and made with good, eco-friendly ingredients, and according to the reviews are simply wonderful.
The brands that I found do not use plastic to package the bath bombs, which most brands do.
This brand had the highest ratings and seem to be the best brand (Amazon’s Choice).
This brand focused more on being eco-friendly in their product description, however, they both seem to be packaged the same and made with similar ingredients. This brand also comes with only 6 bath bombs, while the other brand comes with 24.
I personally haven’t tried either, but they would both be beautiful gifts!
5. Candles
If you’re trying to be more eco-friendly, it’s important to look for candles made with soy wax and not beeswax.
This candle makes for a perfect gift! It’s eco-friendly, made with soy wax, vegan, paraben-free, and cruelty-free.
It has many different scents and claims to have one of the “longest burn times in the market.”
Their candle “Furr a cause” also donates $3 to help rescue abandoned animals.
All in all, this seems like a really great candle and I’ll probably get one for myself too because why not?
These candles are also a nice option for a great gift and are very decorative!
6. Biodegradable Hair Ties
If you’re a girl, you know the struggle of constantly losing hair ties.
You don’t even know where they go! But let me tell you, they are probably stuck somewhere and they aren’t going away anytime soon. Did you know it takes 500 years for a single hair tie to even begin to decompose?
Considering how many hair ties each woman goes through, that’s a lot!
Introducing biodegradable hair ties!
The brand advertised as Amazon’s Choice for biodegradable hair ties had pretty good reviews overall, but also some iffy reviews where people weren’t getting the product shown, so buy at your own risk.
I found this other brand, Kooshoo, that seems to be the real thing but is a bit pricy.
7. Produce Bags
If you know someone who is super environmentally friendly and loves all things reusable, this is a great gift idea!
They are super cute and ~aesthetic~ and a really great way to use less plastic while grocery shopping.
There are tons of other options if this interests you, but you don’t like this particular design.
8. Eco-Friendly Phone Case
An eco-friendly phone case would make a wonderful gift!
Instead of paying so much money for plastic cases that are going to be worn down and thrown out within a few months, try a compostable phone case.
Pela case is a really great brand. They are the world’s first 100% compostable phone case.
They also have AirPod cases and smart watch bands.
I love these cases because you can also wash them and use them again, good as new!
Pela case also donates 5% of total sales to important causes, which I think is really great.
It’s really easy to find environmentally friendly products these days. There are so many companies out there that are making new ways of living with different sustainable products. All you have to do is look for them!
Really love the grocery bags! I had a friend that always used them and ever since she introduced me to them, I have been wanting to get some of my own!
They are really a great investment! Highly recommend!
